American Corner
In 2004, Buraimi (University) College and the U.S. Embassy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishing an American Corner on campus. Similar to a public library reference service, the American Corner provides information about the U.S. free of charge to the Omani public.
Located inside the campus library, visitors to the American Corner can watch a video, read up on a particular subject, surf the internet or attend a lecture they’re interested in.
Buraimi College’s American Corner has an ever increasing number of videos, CDs and books on American history, leaders, people, sports, entertainment, geography, business, science and technology, fiction and a host of other interesting topics. Language training and test preparation materials are also available for those wishing to develop their English skills or take tests such as the TOEFL or SAT.
