Training and Consultation Programs

The unit of training, consultation and community services at Al Buraimi College responds directly to the needs of the marketplace and the demands of our citizens. The unit has a program that focuses on core business knowledge, skill requirements, and competencies for capacity building. The program inculcates essential skills required to achieve long-term business solutions. Those who join our program are challenged to stretch beyond what is expected and are given effective training experiences that can be immediately applied in the workplace. Learners are encouraged to maintain a portfolio of the skills for how to be effective leaders in the workplace. Because of the changing nature of the program in this unit, participants whether they are individuals or institutions, will be prepared better for success in their careers. Each program is specialized in a different discipline and a certificate recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education in Oman is awarded at the end of each training course.

The Mission of BUC

Most colleges and universities are now required to meet their social responsibilities toward their societies. Al Buraimi College has determined more than before to serve the local community by offering a form of advanced learning as one of its goals. By doing so, it is easier to see that containing education opens up unpreceded opportunities for local community institution and individuals as well. Al Buraimi College has been a pioneer in this respect among most Omani colleges and universities. It has recently taken certain measures in terms of staff, faculty, and facilities that are available and ready to be put at the disposal of the local community.

Al Buraimi College has set up the main infrastructure to start this educational experience. Therefore, many computer labs have been established in the college and connected to a high- speed internet web together with specialized labs set up to serve local institutions and citizens.

As we have seen, Al Buraimi College is now fully-equipped and ready to start new programs of training and consultations as a direct response to the local community needs and demands. The college is also in the process of establishing consultation and training programs that can serve the surrounding regions and become one of the pioneers in this respect.
