Mission:

The mission of the Department of Business Administration and Accounting is to offer high quality academic programs which successfully prepare individuals for entry-level managerial position in public and private sectors. The goals that come out from this mission are:

  1. To prepare graduates for various positions in business and industry

  2. To recruit, retain and develop quality faculty

  3. To provide quality instruction and curriculum to meet the demands of students for their chosen careers.

Marketing Program:

Objectives:

The program provides a framework for developing skills and knowledge for employment. It is designed for a perfect opportunity to a participant who is seeking career change or enhancing their skills for better prospects. It also to provide knowledge and understanding of the concept and the techniques involved in marketing, including other range of marketing activities.

  1. To train students to have in-depth knowledge in the basic marketing.

  2. To train students to understand the role and practice of marketing within the organization and develop an understanding of theoretical and applied aspects of marketing.

  3. To train students to understanding international and industrial marketing strategies, distribution strategies, integrated marketing communication, service marketing and in the research area.

  4. To train students to have an understanding of the fundamental mathematical and statistical foundation, computing and information processing needed for the business environment and efficient in spoken and written English

Advanced Diploma (3 years):

The number of credit hours required for obtaining the Advanced Diploma is 90 credit hours. This advanced diploma is state that the common pricing strategies available to business and finding out what the consumers want and supplying these needs as efficiently and cost effectively as possible. The commitment of the student’s to demonstrate his/her profession and a desire to stay at leading edge in marketing. It can also prepare students to understand marketing to changing business environments and making sound business decisions.

Student Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the program, marketing graduates will demonstrate the ability to creatively apply the rigorous analysis required to identify, understand, and profitably fulfill the dynamic needs of customers in a global market place. Identify and integrate key marketing concepts such as the marketing mix, branding, the product life cycle, segmentation, target marketing, product positioning, new product development, consumer behavior, and international marketing to managerially relevant situations. The students can design and implement marketing research to accurately discover and assess market needs through reliable measurement and data collection method the students can learn abilities in the area of problem solving and critical thinking, written and oral communication, the application of information and research technology, long range strategic planning.

The degree in Marketing has been carefully drawn to meet market demands qualitatively in particular in public and private sector. In today’s business world, Marketing as a profession and career has been increasingly looked upon forefront demanded job qualification. The program ensures offering graduates who will be efficient and effective in performing business and achieving organization objectives. The holders of degree in Marketing have been well received in Oman Job Market, as well as other Gulf countries for their outstanding performance in teamwork, creativity and administrative leadership skills.
