Higher Education Ministry Delegation visits AL-Buraimi College

 

     Within the framework of the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Higher Education, represented by the general directorate for Private Universities and Colleges, for the promotion of higher education levels in the Sultanate and for follow-up of the private education instantiations, a delegation of the General Directorate for Private Universities and Colleges visited Al-Buraimi College in the morning of the 14th of March, 2007. The delegation was headed by Dr.Khamis Bin Saleh Al-Belushi, deputy director of Private Universities and Colleges, and Mr. Mohammed Bin Salem Al-Weheibi, a technical programming assistant. The delegation was received by His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed Bin Nasser Al-Naimy, Chairman of the College Board Council, Dr. Abdullah  Hatem AL-Ani, Dean of the College, as well as Heads of Academic Departments and members of the Academic Council. His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed, Chairman of the College Board Council, welcomed the delegation, pointed to the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Higher Education for the promotion of the educational processes in private educational institutions. Sheikh Ahmed also indicated that every accomplishment and every success achieved by AL-Buraimi College in that academic and administrative field is a result of the joint sincere efforts that embody the national patriotic partnership between the public administrative institutions and the private institutions. He also stressed the college’s determination to continue its follow-up of academic development, selecting the best ideas and achievements in the various areas of science and technology.
      Then the Dean of the College presented with a detailed-explanation of the development, and achievements realized by the College, with regards to the increasing state of student numbers and staff members’ numbers, as well as the growing state of buildings, relevant facilities, the library, admission and registration, and students’ activities programs. The delegation, then, met a group of the College students, and listened to their viewpoints and suggestions. Later, the delegation also, paid an important visit to the different departments and units of the College, which included the library and the Department of Admission and Registration, taking into consideration the experience carried out by the College, the financial affairs Department, the Student Services Center, the academic departments, and the College administration.
      At the end of the visit, another meeting was held, attended by his Excellency the chairman of the Board Council, the dean of the college, the heads of the Academic departments and the members of the academic council. During the meeting, all related issues and topics were discussed. Then, Dr. Khamis Bin Saleh AL-Beluoshi, Head of the delegation, expressed his admiration of all the achievements realized by the College and the high levels of performance. He made it clear that with each visit he paid to the College, he realized that it is getting better and better, and that he hoped this flourishing process will go on and on
