The Visit of the Delegation from California State University, Northridge, USA
to Al Buraimi College – February 17-20, 2007

 

The Chairman, Sheikh Ahmed bin Nasser Al Nuaimi, extended a warm welcome from Al Buraimi College to the American friends. A brief introduction was made by the Chairman of the members present and of the college and its history. This is the team’s first visit from California State University – Northridge since Al Buraimi College was started and an agreement for academic collaboration with them was reached.

The purpose of their visit is to review the curriculum, syllabi, textbooks, and courses offered at Al Buraimi College and to provide support in curriculum design. Dr. Abdulla Alani, the Dean of the college, briefed about the programs offered and the facilities available in the college.  They will communicate the necessary procedures to satisfy their academic requirements. They will tour the campus, inspect its facilities, and convene with the heads of departments and instructors. They will consult with the Department of Admissions and Registration and meet with the technology staff. They will review human resources policies, as well as meet with faculty for Student Career Services. They will have an open meeting with the students of the college to understand their interest and other expectations.  Two workshops will be conducted for faculty and staff for professional development. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with them and draw from their experience and expertise to better the functioning of this institution. Al Buraimi College is sure to benefit from their contribution and the strengthening of ties between our two universities.
