  Finance and Banking  
Bachelor in Finance and Banking:

The number of credit hours required for obtaining the Bachelor Degree in Finance and Banking is 120 credit hours. The program will provide students with skills and knowledge appropriate for Accounting, finance and banking fields of professionals. It is designed so that student may complete the major portion of the training required by the various financial institutions.

Advanced Diploma (3 years):

The number of credit hours required for obtaining Advanced Diploma is 90 credit hours. After passing the foundation program, students will be taught the core finance and banking subject that will provide them with the flexibility to focus on an area of specialization. This will provide student with opportunities to build problem – solving analytical teamwork skills and the problems – based learning approach. It is designed to provide broad – based development and training in theoretical and practical accounting knowledge and skills for both career advancement and tertiary education.

Diploma (2 years):

The number of credit hours required for obtaining Diploma is 60 credit hours. It is designed to produce lower and middle level manpower for public and private sectors that are able to make significant contribution towards the economic development of Oman.

Student Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the program, students should have learnt the theories and applications with regard decisions on investing, financing, pricing, and ethics. Concepts, such as the time value of money, risk and return, and portfolio theory are at the core of finance, first introduced to students at the fundamental level, and subsequently applied to more advanced levels, such as asset valuation, an advanced understanding finance functions of business, an understanding of the technical tools used in banking and finance and also an understanding of the economy of Oman.

Job Opportunities:

The degree in Finance and Banking qualifies graduates for the various corporate, financial and management position such as Financial Analysts, Finance Managers, Cash and Risk Management Managers, Portfolio Management Analysts, Bank Management positions or as entrepreneurs operating their own business. In addition it is designed to prepare our finance and banking graduate for a position of finance and banking discipline, our intensive program can qualify them for the highest level of management.
