Academic Mission:

The Department of English at Al Buraimi College has set for itself a number of humanistic and pedagogically sound academic goals to satisfy the needs of the students who choose English language and literature as their major. These goals challenge the four areas which are the basic components of the BA degree, namely, language, linguistics, literature and translation. They come together to give the students the chance to understand and appreciate English language and its literature and history. The English Department aims at acquainting the students with the main patterns of Western civilization and literature with special emphasis on English. Consequently, we try to refine their aesthetic sense and widen their intellectual scope.
